Young Lion Joins The Foxes

Whitehaven AFC are proud to announce that Max Vaughan from our U12 Mixed Team has done amazing by being signed to the Carlisle United Academy!!

Carlisle United have, throughout the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) era, operated a Category Three academy, registering and developing players from under-9 level upwards, and is a beacon for young talented footballers in the area to foster a career in the profession.

Young Max, described as very clever player who reads the game really well and has an excellent array of passing, especially seeing the killer passes to unlock creative opportunities found out this week this great news. Just as important as his obvious technical talent is his character, remaining grounded and working incredibly hard to keep pushing his boundaries as well as being a super team mate also caught the eye while he has been working hard on getting this opportunity.

Ryan Groggins who is one of his coaches at Whitehaven said on Max “Myself and Mark Thomson who also coaches Max, are very proud of him and what he has achieved. Max is a player who has the ability to calm any game down, he can carry out the perfect pass and when the team needs a goal he could score some absolute worldies, he will be a huge loss to the Whitehaven u12s age group and we wish him the very best for the future.”
