As you may have seen in an article earlier in January a group of our U13s boys set upon taking part in the Prostate Cancer UK 'Run the Month' challenge, where they tasked themselves with running at least 26.2 miles each throughout the month! Yesterday was the last day of the challenge for Alex Kitchen who started the challenge and his team mates Jenson Bristoe, Charlie Hodgson, Donovan McAlone, Lennon Pearson, Kian Larmour, Jake Thomson and Keenan Mackay........... and they absolutely smashed it, between them covering a massive 615.7 miles (a distance from Whitehaven to Paris!) but most importantly raising a whopping £4548 for Prostate Cancer UK
Throughout the challenge they have often supported each other (socially distanced) on their runs and also had the support from other members of the U13s and other age groups making it a real team effort at times.
The challenge itself has meant the boys going out running in all weathers throughout January (sometimes twice a day!) and its been a real testament to the character and determination shown by them all to complete it whilst also keeping them healthy and fit both physically and mentally!
