Liverpool FC Coaching Legend Hugh McAuley Returns to Amateurs For Football Camp Tomorrow!!

Tomorrow the 5th August Whitehaven Amateurs will welcome friend of the club and coaching legend Hugh McAuley and his team to run their Annual Football Camp over the next 3 days!!

Each Soccer Camp offers a broad range of schemes and activities to help children develop and learn new skills and techniques in a fun, inclusive and rewarding atmosphere.

Participants can arrive from 9.30am for check in. All participants will receive a certificate of attendance and a players medal. Additional prizes will also be awarded at the end of the Soccer Camp for competition winners from each age group.

The Soccer Camp is for boys and girls of all abilities, aged between 4-16 years of age, no one is excluded, you don’t have to be connected with Whitehaven Amateurs to attend, everyone is welcome. Throughout the soccer camps all the young people involved are faced with challenging and enjoyable skill sessions, penalty shootouts, small sided games and competitions / tournaments.

Hugh and his team have a wealth of expertise, coaching children at grassroots clubs but also Hugh has coached some of the biggest stars to come out of the Liverpool FC Academy including Robbie Fowler, Jamie Carragher, Michael Owen & current Rangers FC Manager Steven Gerrard!!

Them legends have been full of praise for Hugh’s training methods and how he had helped them develop over the years with Steven Gerrard saying ‘I’ve known Hugh McAuley ever since I was a young boy at The Liverpool FC Academy. Hugh played a part in helping me to play at the top level. We are still in touch now and I can’t speak highly enough of him, both as a coach and a person.’ and Jamie Carragher said ‘As a youth coach Hugh McAuley played a major part of my Liverpool FC career and success in youth cup finals was the culmination of his great coaching. I will look to use his ideas when taking my own coaching qualifications.’
