Stanwix Wasps 0-2 WAFC u12 Blues
The Lionesses started off with good pressure on the ball and had some good positions on the field to take the lead, however the girls were doing a little to much and not always playing the correct ball with early nerves in their first ever County Cup maybe affecting them. As the game got half way through the first half though Ella Beadsmore showed great trickery and balance dancing through players and slotting home a lovely goal. The Lionesses now looked calmer and good play down the right wing by Destiny Campbell and by Aarleah Robertson inside her saw a ball flashed across the Stanwix goal with Kaitlin Walmsley on hand to finish it into the roof of the net first time.
Into the second half and the Wasps pressed the Lionesses now with the wind behind them but Evie Kerrush & Millie Clark made every tackle and smartly played the ball forward to start attacks, Katie Henshaw a constant threat on the wing, but no more goals cane and it finished 2-0 to the Lionesses.
Castletown Girls 0-5 WAFC U12 Blues
A very tough game against a good Castletown team saw the Lionesses really step up to the challenge, and after some good play and passing by the Lionesses Kaitlin Walmsley put the side 1-0 up. Hot Shot Layla Rudd was being a real menace upfront and chasing everything down and working hard for the team, and she was rewarded for her efforts with a goal to make it 2-0.
Into the second half and Ella Beadsmoore was showing more trickery and Lilia Gill was played in a hat trick of times and was very unlucky not to get a goal. Ella Beadsmoore struck low into the corner shortly after to make it 3-0, before another good run from Ella after being played in by Millie Clark saw Ella tripped on the edge of the box and a free kick given, Evie Kerrush from defence stood up to fire a thunderbolt into the goal to make 4-0. The Lionesses other defender not to be outdone by her partner Evie then pushed forward and also fired a lovely shot to make it 5-0 and round off a perfect day for the Lionesses in their first County Cup experience.
Whitehaven AFC u13 Girls
