Thornaby 1 Whitehaven Amateurs 3 (aet)
A great result for our club which was thoroughly deserved. Thornaby took the lead early in the game but were pegged back soon after when Craig Robson netted from close range. Play was mostly in the Thornaby half after they went down to ten men, Darren Donald being the recipient of some crude tackling. In extra time Donald fired home our second goal from the edge of the area, and Kev Connelly completed the scoring near the end. A significant day in the history of our club.
